Cathedral Heights

The homeowners wanted to reimagine their first floor and move the kitchen from a dark, interior room to a brighter, more functional space. They hoped to create a kitchen that felt open, connected, and timeless while maintaining harmony with the home’s architecture.

We relocated the kitchen into the former family room, filling it with light and views to the backyard. The original kitchen became a butler’s pantry, adding storage, workspace, and flexibility for entertaining. A warm gray and walnut palette with marble surfaces created a foundation that feels both classic and inviting.

Tall windows inspired by English Tudor proportions bring in natural light and frame the view. The absence of upper cabinets keeps the space open, while floating shelves, walnut island and tall hutch add richness and function. The result is a kitchen that feels grounded, gracious, and perfectly suited to the way the family lives.
